We are one of 100 chapters nationwide whose mission it is to promote amateur football at the high school, college and university levels.

With 10,000 members throughout the United States, our chapter honors, through an awards banquet, scholar football players from each league with the San Diego CIF. Our selection committee picks two players from each league. Student-football players are nominated as scholar-leader-athletes by each school's head football coach and principal or president.

To be considered players, they must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and be all-league at their position. Students must also be outstanding citizens as 20 percent of their evaluation and selection is based on other than scholastics and football ability.

Honorees and their achievements are recognized and enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana.
