Tyson Thompson is a 6-foot-3, 235-pound tight end from Palomar
College. He was unanimously selected first-team All-Mission Conference.
Thompson was a two-year starter and helped Palomar win back-to-back
Mission Conference Championships. He finished his sophomore season
with 20 receptions for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He received
two letters in football along with one of his team's most prestigious
recognitions, the Academic Award. He was offered a full scholarship
to San Diego State University and is currently enrolled there.
Steve White, a coach at Palomar, said Tyler has a tremendous
work ethic. He is an overachiever and one of the finest young
men to ever play at Palomar College.
With a 3.6 grade point average, he plans to major in management.
He is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints. He lists his hobbies as sports, playing music on the
ukulele and church service. He is the son of Eldon and Paulette
Thompson of Carlsbad.
