Wide Receiver

R.J. Suokko is a 5-foot-8, 150-pound wide receiver from Torrey Pines High School. He was first-team All-Palomar League, second-team All-CIF, second-team All-North County and first-team San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic first- team. His 33 receptions averaged a whopping 19.8 yards per catch and he led 12 team-leading touchdowns, a new school record for touchdowns in a year. Suokko received two letters in varsity football and one in varsity baseball. His coach, Ed Burke, describes him as “a remarkable young man with a quiet, unassuming demeanor. You would never expect him to be the dynamo he is until you get to know him. He is a model for the very meaning of Scholar-Leader-Athlete.”
He achieved a 4.0 grade point average and was ASB Commissioner of Academics. He lists his hobbies as snowboarding, baseball, basketball and football. He plans to major in engineering in college. He is the son of Ron and Linda Suokko of Solana Beach.
