Strong Safety

Isaac Pastrana is 5-foot-9, 150-pound strong safety from Eastlake High School. He was second-team All-South Bay and was one of the league's leading tacklers. He lettered two years in varsity football, four years in wrestling, and three years in track and field. He was his school's most valuable player in wrestling in 1999 and 2000, and was CIF Division III 130-pound champion. Pastrana was captain of his track team and is the Eastlake record holder in the 800 meters. His coach, John McFadden said, “Isaac has been a great role model for all of our students.”
Pastrana achieved a 4.59 grade point average and was the associated student body president. He is a member of MECHA, his church youth group, and Link crew leader where he tutors incoming freshmen. He was recipient of the Harvard Prize Book Award, the Xerox Award, Outstanding Four-Year French Student at Eastlake, Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Big Man on Campus, Wendy's High School Heisman Bronze Medal and his school's Perfect Attendance Award. Pastrana plans to major in biology and premed at either Yale, Columbia or the University of San Diego. He is the son of Carlos and Elizabeth Pastrana of Chula Vista.
