Robert Ortiz is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound strong safety and wide receiver from Horizon High School. He was second-team All-CIF, first-team All-Coastal League, and San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic First Team. He was selected his football team's Most Valuable Player. Ortiz has received three letters in varsity football, two in basketball and one in baseball. He was captain of both his football and basketball teams.
He is undecided where he plans to attend college, but will major in graphic design. Ortiz achieved a 3.80 grade point average. He lists his hobbies as dancing and drawing. He is the son of Bobby and Judy Ortiz of San Diego.
