Defensive Back, Wide Receiver

Shannon Nowden is a 5-foot-10, 160 pound defensive back and wide receiver from Mission Bay High School. Nowden was a first-team All-CIF defensive back selection and an All-Western League pick two years in a row. He made All-League in the long jump and was a state qualifier in track. He made the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team for three years. Nowden received four letters in varsity football, four in track and one in basketball. He was the football team captain his senior year. His coach, Dennis Pugh said, “Shannon has overcome personal family problems and helped his mother as she has raised a family by herself. I've seen him grow from a shy, introverted ninth grader to the exemplary person he is today.”
With a 3.47 grade point average, Nowden plans to attend Weber State University and major in business. He lists his hobbies as sports, music and reading. He is the son of Debra Nowden of San Diego.
