Gustavo Gallego is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound defense back from the Army and Navy Academy. He was second-team All-Coastal League and was nominated as the CIF Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He was elected most valuable player on his junior varsity football team as a freshman and sophomore, He was also most valuable player on the junior varsity basketball team his sophomore year. He received two varsity letters in football, two in basketball, two in golf and one in soccer.
On campus, he is associated student body president, president of the school's National Honor Society, a member of the California Scholarship Federation and Beta Club. He was battalion executive officer, a JROTCH leadership position, and was second in command of 340 cadets. With a 4.1 grade point average, Gallego plans to attend either USC or UCLA and major in business. He lists his hobbies as playing golf and hanging around with friends. He is the son of Jorge Gallego and Guadalupe Topete of Mexicali, BC, Mexico.
