Running Back, Defensive Back

Richard Del Rincon is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound running back and defensive back from Monte Vista High School. He was first-team All-Grossmont South league as a defensive back, second-team All-Grossmont South as a running back, and second-team All-East County as a defensive back. Del Rincon was a member of the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team in both football and track. Del Rincon earned two letters in varsity football, and one in track and field. He was captain of his track team. His coach, Page Culver, said “Richard is the fastest man on our team, running a 10:7 100 meters. He is being recruiting by various colleges in both football and track.”
Before moving to La Mesa, Del Rincon also was recognized for his play at Silverado High School in Henderson, Nevada. There he was an all-conference selection at defensive back.
At Monte Vista, Del Rincon is listed on the school's honor roll with a 3.93 grade point average. He lists his hobbies as sports, music, weight lifting and reading. He is the son of Ron and Yolanda Sargent of La Mesa.
