Matt Andre is a 6-foot-1,
175-pound defensive back from San Pasqual High School. He was named second-team
All-CIF. He was also selected first-team All-Valley League, and All-North
County in football. The San Diego Union-Tribune picked him All-Academic
First Team. In 1999, he was a second-team All-Valley League choice in
football. He broke the school record for interceptions in a single season
in 2000 with 8, and had a career high of 11. He is listed in the year
2000 Who's Who for high school sports. His coach, Mike Dolan said,
Matt embodies all the traits one would seek as a leader of our youth for
the future. His classroom success has been the result of determination
and hard work that carries over into every facet of his life. Andre
received two varsity letters in football, three in basketball and two
in track.
Andre achieved a 4.4 grade point average and was Physics Student of the
Year. He was a member of the California Scholarship Federation in the
10th, 11th and 12th grades. He was active in the student-led Bible studies
with Student Venture and Emmanuel Community Church. He is undecided on
college plans. Andre lists his hobby as going to the beach. He is the
son of Ray and Barbara Andre of Escondido. |
